This is the first Wii game to show off Wii's new MotionPlus.
Wii Sports Resort is the long anticipated sequel to the original Wii Sports games which Wii fans fell in love with.
This time all the sports are set on a tropical island and include fun activiites such as Disc Dog (a frisbee throwing game), Sword fighting, and Jet Skiing.
In fact 12 new games in total are included on the disc. This is a great game overall and a well deserved addition to your Wii game library.
About Wii Sports Resort
Take a vacation at home!
Let's first talk about the new Wii Motion Plus (which comes with the Wii Sports Resort game). It is basically a little gadget that you plug into the bottom of your original Wii Remote (or Wii-mote as the cool kids are calling it) that gives much more precise tracking and thus a better playing experience.
You arrive at the 'resort' by sky diving in and then you can choose your favorite Mii or create a new one. Like most Wii games, not every activity is available immediately and you will need to unlock some of them to play them.
Some of my favorite Wii Games include Sky Diving where the object of the game is to connect with other players so you can get the perfect photo opportunity. You get a perfect score if you can connect up four players with bonus points if everyone is looking at the camera at the moment the photo is taken.
You can play with up to 4 players and by far the hardest of the multiplayer games is canoeing which requires you and your partner to be in perfect sync to race (just like the cycling game does as well).
If you are a fan of the TV show American Gladiators then you'll love playing the Swordplay games in which you hold a sword (which looks more like a light sabre to me) and try and knock your opponent off the board you are both on to win. Of course if you fall off (or get knocked off) your opponent will win instead.
