The new Wii Wipeout game based on the television series of the same name comes complete with all the shows favourites such as the Big Balls, Sucker Punch and the Sweeper.
It’s a great fun, and often times, hilarious game that is best played in a group (although can also be played as a single player). That is why we believe this is more of a party game rather than one for the solo player who prefers a story progression.
The graphics are good and the action is fast. As you progress through the levels the game play gets harder. This provides some challenging moments to jump or duck at the correct time while being still easy enough for children to use.
The downsides to this game are that the commentary can be rather annoying when all you really want to do is play the game. But this I guess was important to keeping the game similar to the TV show and they are voiced by the actual presenters John Anderson, John Henson and Jill Wagner which is a bonus (although sometimes the voices don’t sync up with the animations correctly).
The age group is probably mainly targeted to early teens although kids as young as eight will probably like it as well. Older gamers may not find it challenging enough.
The challenges follow the TV show pretty closely, right down to the slow motion replays so if you aren’t a fan of the show you might wonder what the fuss is all about, but true Wipeout fans will enjoy this.
You can choose to either play show mode that takes you through all the challenges, or challenge mode where you can choose a specific challenge to compete in of which there are over fifty to choose from.
If you are looking for a game with plenty of laughs to keep the kids amused then Wipeout for the Wii is a great choice.

You can choose to play solo or multiplayer (it’s more fun with a group) and suits ages 10 and up.
Mario Kart Wii with Wii Wheel
The Nintendo Wii has bought Mario back with all his friends in this action packed racing game. It comes with a Wii Whell and three different styles of control (which are all included) Mario Kart Wii with Wii Wheel proves why it’s one of the bestselling Wii games right now.
You can play alone, or with up to three friends. Or you can go online and challenge up to 11 other players via your Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. You can play any of the tracks online and you can also visit the Mario Kart Channel for tournaments, rankings and more.

Let’s first talk about the new Wii Motion Plus (which comes with the Wii Sports Resort game). It is basically a little gadget that you plug into the bottom of your original Wii Remote (or Wii-mote as the cool kids are calling it) that gives much more precise tracking and thus a better playing experience.
If you are a fan of the TV show American Gladiators then you’ll love playing the Swordplay games in which you hold a sword (which looks more like a light sabre to me) and try and knock your opponent off the board you are both on to win. Of course if you fall off (or get knocked off) your opponent will win instead.
So let’s first go over what improvements have been made and what’s new in this version.
Perfect 10 – You have to bump your hips into the numbered ‘mushrooms’ to make up either 10, 15 or 20, depending on what is required.
Obstacle Course – Really fun game where you run around an obstacle course avoiding wrecking balls, jumping over falling logs and walking sideways.
